Seeing our loved one for the first time in a long time would be the finest moment of our lives. It’s even more valuable when we consider how close we came to losing them. The reunion is a miracle, and we are grateful for it.
King is a lucky dog, a 15-year-old small brown Chihuahua mix. After going missing from home, he is eventually reunited with his family. When the dog sees his family for the first time, he gives a genuine smile.
Six years ago, King vanished from his family’s yard in San Antonio, Texas. Despite putting up fliers, posting on social media, and checking the local shelter frequently, his family was unable to locate their dog. But they never gave up hope, believing that one day they would be reunited with the dog.
After years of waiting, King and his family were finally blessed with good fortune. King’s information was discovered when the animal shelter where he was staying examined him for a microchip.
The shelter immediately called King’s family so that they could come to see their dog who had been waiting for them for so long.

The HSBC’s vice president of marketing, Cherie Wachter, told The Dodo, “They called back within an hour and were happy to find that King was safe and alive.”
King’s family couldn’t wait to get in the car and pick him up. They couldn’t book a flight until the end of the week, so they drove nearly 1,300 miles in 19 hours to get their poor pooch back home.
