Pit bulls are known as the “king” of fighting canines because of their natural strength and aggression. They are not, however, born to fight. They, like any other dog breed, require a secure environment in which to live a peaceful life full of love and care. Unfortunately, some people are unaware of this reality.
Whether you believe it or not, several companies continue to use pit bulls and other animals to entertain and make money in a cruel and inhumane manner on a daily basis. However, few people are aware of the precise situation in their own country.
According to a 2018 research by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), more than half of those polled said they were unaware of dogfighting in their neighborhoods. Hundreds of thousands of canines had been forced into dogfighting rings across the United States. From 2010 to 2017, the ASPCA “aided with about 200 dogfighting instances in at least 24 states, and has touched nearly 5,000 victims of dogfighting through rescue, consultations, and investigations.”
In this “business,” Indiana is one of the states that stands out. The Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC) was notified of the situation in Morgan and Owen counties, and they moved quickly.
The IGC has rescued 10 pit bulls and 550 roosters from two suspected homes with the support of the ASPCA. Both the pit bulls and the roosters were mercilessly “fixed” in order to meet the rigors of the fighting ring.
As a result, it’s acceptable to state that all abused animals in the world still have hope, as long as people are aware of their plight. The pit bulls they had recently rescued were all given to animal shelters for better care, but they would still have a long way to go before being able to live a regular dog’s life.
Please spread the word so that more animals might be protected from cruel treatment!
