For many dogs, going for a walk is the highlight of their day. They enjoy being able to wander outside and inhale a variety of new scents. Walks can be enjoyable for all dogs, even those that are unable to walk on their own. This is especially true for a man in Nova Scotia, Canada, and his disabled dog. He built a comfy wagon so that his dog could continue to enjoy her regular walks. He claims that he is confident that she would do the same for him.
During a walk around Shubie Park, Bryan Thompson came across this man and his dog. He noticed a man walking through the snow with a peculiar wagon trailing after him. A white dog was cuddled up among the warm blankets inside the wagon.
It was the most touching scene Thompson had ever witnessed! He was immediately interested in learning more about this wonderful man and his happy dog.
A Lovely Friendship
Thompson approached the man and his dog and struck up a conversation with him. The owner said that his pet dog suffers from ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. It’s a spinal cord condition that causes dogs to become paralyzed. As a result, the unfortunate dog is unable to stand on her own, but her father did not want this to be a barrier to her success.
As a result, the caring dog father built a cozy carriage for his beloved pet. He wanted to make sure she could continue to take her regular walks as comfortably as possible. He’ll never let her miss out on anything fun.
“I told him he was a great person for doing that, because I know there are many who wouldn’t. He just said that she would do the same for him and kept trucking. It’s hard to type this without tearing up,” said Thompson.
Their Story Has Been Spreading Like Wildfire!
Thompson decided to share the story on Facebook after this touching experience. During their talk, he took images of the man and his dog, but the man requested that his identify not be publicized.
Thompson posted three wonderful images of the two pals walking together, along with what he had seen. It quickly racked up thousands of likes and shares!
“I hope you can share this, especially everyone who shares the lost animal posts, this guy deserves a huge dog kiss for his love of his dog,” Thompson posted.
This one little act of compassion served to provide joy to a large number of people on the internet. Hopefully, this man will be able to show the rest of the world how canines should be handled. After all, when he adds that our pets would do the same for us, he is correct.
