A dog story like this finds its way around the Internet every now and then, bringing a grin to everyone’s face.
“An older, tired-looking dog strayed into my yard; I could tell he had a family and was well-cared for by his collar and well-fed belly.” He came over to me quietly, and I patted him on the head; he then followed me into my house, strolled down the hall slowly, curled up in the corner, and fell sleeping. He came to the door an hour later, and I let him go.
“He returned the next day, met me in my yard, stepped inside, resumed his position in the hall, and slept for approximately an hour.” For several weeks, this went on and off.
“Curious ‘I’d like to find out who the owner of this great sweet dog is and ask if you are aware that practically every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap,’ I pinned a note to his collar.
“The next day, he showed up for his nap with a different note attached to his collar, saying, ‘He lives in a home with 6 children, two of which are under the age of three, and he’s trying to catch up on his sleep.’ ‘Can I accompany him tomorrow?’
