Sleepless-Dog Lay Beside Woman And Closed Her Eyes For 1st Time Since Rescue

Dog shelters in Romania are not like those in the United States. The dogs are frequently kept outside in less than ideal conditions. Because of Romania’s poverty, the shelters do not receive enough food from donations, resulting in the dogs not eating as much as they should.
Bella was afraid and underweight. She’d never been loved or held. Her spirit was being broken at the shelter. Bella was taken from the shelter by Howl Of A Dog, a Romanian rescue group, in order to find her a forever home.

The rescuers and sweet Bella head straight to the vet. As she sits beside her new human friend in the car, her expression is that of pure peace. She understands, as she’s being shown affection, that her life is about to change.

Bella was utterly exhausted. Shelter workers told the rescuers that Bella hardly slept. She had a hard time feeling safe in her kennel. As she sits there, being pet, her eyes start to close. It’s incredible to see her finally relax.

Then Bella does something really sweet. She rests her head on the lap of her saviour. She falls asleep on the way to the veterinarian’s office. The woman beside her is nice and gentle, and the car is serene and quiet. This is just what Bella required. To a dog, safety is everything.
