After being seen practically battling off a bear to save her dogs, a woman has gone popular on TikTok.
What would you do if you glanced out your window and saw a large brown bear threatening your pups’ lives? Would you flee or would you take a chance with your life?
Hailey had an interesting Memorial Day when her pets were unexpectedly confronted with a massive bear and its own cub ascending a wall adjacent to her house. Two little dogs and one large dog dashed out to face the predator and its pup, barking fiercely and hurling themselves in its direction, but to no avail.
The bear, on the other hand, aggressively slashed out at the larger dog twice, compelling it to flee in terror before the smaller dogs found themselves in danger. The video caught Hailey, dressed in a blue dress, sprinting down the road, right towards the bear.
She can be seen shoving the massive bear so hard that it falls off the other side of the wall. She gathered her dogs and rushed inside in the seconds before the bear climbed back up onto the wall.
The entire episode was filmed on CCTV and released by Hailey’s cousin Brenda, along with the popular Kreepa song Oh No, with the caption:
“Today, my cousin Hailey yelled a bear off her fence, saving her pets. What did you do for Memorial Day?!” Hailey is actually 17 years old, and she nonchalantly explained her experience on her own TikTok storytime, “I thought they were just barking at a dog…and I go over there and I’m thinking that’s a funny-looking dog.”
When I arrive, the bear has already picked up one of my pets. “When I got over there and looked the bear in the eyes, the first thing that sprang to mind was to push it, an apex predator man. I don’t think I pushed her too hard; I simply pushed her hard enough to knock her off her feet. As a result, she abandons my dog, and I flee.”
She also stated that she sprained her finger and knee as a result of the incident, but that she and the dogs are ok.
Hailey’s boldness astounded viewers, with one person exclaiming, “She’s on my team for the zombie apocalypse!” “She just shoved that bear like it was a teddy animal,” another individual said.
Others expressed pity for the bear, who appeared to be defending its own child, calling it a “victim” and crying, “If you ever see her battling in the wild with a grizzly bear, aid the animal.”
Naturally, the video has gone viral on TikTok, with over 25 million views and three million likes in less than 12 hours.
