Couple visits shelter to donate supplies and end up adopting sweet, 17-year-old senior dog

The young couple had no intention of adopting a puppy, but they couldn’t say no to a sweet 17-year-old boy.

A pair of caring young dog lovers walked into the animal shelter nearly four years later. It was December, and Beth and Michael, a charming couple, were resolved to start the vacation season on a charitable note. They intended to donate the supplies to a local animal sanctuary.

When the couple went to Anne Arundel County Animal Control, they had no intention of adopting a pet. That was, however, before they met Rocky. Because it was 2012, Beth and Michael were informed that the dreadful Rocky had been a resident of the haven for three years. Candy Senior Dog was 17 years old when they met him. Unfortunately, based on its appearance, this poor dog will spend his final days in a crowded kennel.

Rocky’s fortunes were about to turn around, thankfully. His sugary face was too much for the couple to bear. On the moment, Beth and Michael felt a connection with the lonely old dog.
“We were there to donate a variety of items that I had gathered with the help of my navy neighbors, and I observed the rock path and couldn’t stop wondering about that cute historical face.” The next thing I know, I’m going for hikes with Rocky!” In an interview with Bored Panda, Beth gushed, “I’m so delighted!” The adoring couple brought their new furbaby domestic just before Christmas, giving them plenty of time to make certain Rocky’s first Christmas with his permanent family was the best one ever.

After she adopted Rocky, Beth’s coronary heart used to be so full of love for him that she determined to categorical her emotions to him in a stunning letter. She wrote to Loki, saying how lucky he was in her lifestyle, and promised that she would stay with him until his last breath.

The Anne Arundel County Animal Shelter received Beth’s letter and put it on their Facebook page:
“I took you with the idea that we’d have to take better care of you. Knowing that one day you wouldn’t make it outside in time to use the potty, I had to relax; I knew that one day I’d have to hoist you up the stairs when you didn’t have access to electricity. I knew you were going to lose your hearing and vision at some point. To make your home safer, we’ll have to spend more money. I knew one day I am going to have to say goodbye to you. But until then you are the best gift I have ever received and I’m surely unhappy I couldn’t supply you the first-class 17 years you deserved however I promise you’ll have a high-quality lifestyles from now to the day I have to say goodbye!”

Rocky quickly became accustomed to living a normal life with the humans he adored. Rocky was taken care of by the loving couple, who made sure he didn’t go hungry.
All of his desires have been met with love and kindness. They made positive to furnish Rocky with a few key experiences each canine ought to have in life. Including and mainly the pleasure of gobbling up bowls of doggie ice cream!

Loki grew up in reality as a human being dedicated to his excellence. He cherished to dance and sing with them as he observed them via the house. One of his all-time favorite hobby things to do was once to blissful up with mom for nice heat naps.

“Rocky may have had some traumatic years, but I promised him that as long as he’s here, he’ll be packed with joy, love, and plenty of treats.” He certainly completed a missing puzzle piece in our lives, and we are more than content to be his parents,” Beth says. The couple announced a year later, in the fall of 2016, that they had planned an amazing surprise for their candy Rocky at the store.

When the couple’s baby, Hazel, later arrived, Rocky used to be sincerely delighted about it. Even even though he was once 18-years-old, having a tiny human to care for stored him healthful and glad for even longer! Rocky clearly cherished being round his new child sister every time he could.

This wonderful senior dog may have had a challenging existence in his first 17 years, but he now lives in an ideal household with his always loving family. We’re overjoyed that the sweet couple has decided to provide Rocky with the excellent life he’s always deserved.
