Beauty, the dog, was discovered abandoned as a puppy in Mani, Greece. She was taken in by a local charity after she was discovered, and she spent the first nine years of her life in a shelter.
Every day, Beauty and 150 other canines at the shelter waited for a family to adopt them. She would wag her tail in anticipation and joy every time someone walked by her cage. Beauty, on the other hand, never saw that day.
To make matters worse, Beauty was just diagnosed with leishmaniasis, a parasitic condition. They couldn’t keep her in the shelter since she was sick, so she was taken to Athens to live in a foster home, where she could finally get the help she needed.
The best part is that Beauty won’t ever have to live in a shelter again. She will remain at her foster home, but is still waiting for a forever home.
She will continue to be treated in the meanwhile. She’s doing and feeling fantastic! Zaira, her foster mother, has a big heart and constantly takes in the sickest pets and attempts to heal them. Unfortunately, many have died, but Beauty has proven to be a true figher. Despite the fact that she was frail and didn’t appear to have a chance, she overcame all odds and survived!
She got her second chance at life, but now she is looking for a permanent home with a family who will love her unconditionally. She is a very friendly and sweet pup and definitely deserves a happy ending after everything she has been through.
