Dog Groomer Opens Shop Late At Night To Cut Hair On Stray Dogs, Discovers Real Beauty Beneath Matted Fur
|A couple was travelling near Oviedo, Florida late one night when they came upon a stray dog on the side of the road. He was coated with matted fur, barely responsive, and had plainly been mistreated for the majority of his 4 years on this planet. The couple, unable to keep him overnight, made a frantic plea on social media, which was answered by dog grooming expert Kari Falla.
“When a dog’s fur is matted that much, it can restrict the dog’s blood flow and cause bruises,” Falla told Inside Edition. The unfortunate abandoned animal required immediate attention, so Falla went to her salon, BGE Grooming, which opened at midnight to accommodate him. “I sensed something was wrong, but nothing could have prepared me for what I saw. The dog couldn’t walk because it smelt like death.” Falla worked tirelessly until 3 a.m. to give her dog an amazing makeover, shaving and bathing him completely before rushing him to the doctor.
Lucky, as the cute dog is now known, was discovered to be deaf and blind, but is thriving in foster care. Follow BGE Grooming on Facebook to keep up with Lucky’s progress and be the first to know when he’s ready for a forever home.
