Seven Puppies And Their Mom Rescued By The Soldiers Who Cared For Them In Afghanistan

This is a wonderful story about a stray dog and her seven puppies that were saved by a troop of National Guard soldiers.

It all started when Sheba, the mother dog, strayed onto the soldiers’ base in Afghanistan and quickly became a favorite buddy and mascot. When the men were on patrol, she fearlessly chased away other stray dogs.

Sheba was exhausted after giving birth to a litter of puppies. With army rations and food received from relatives back home, the troops nursed her back to health. The troops became closer to the puppies as they grew older. “They truly became like family to us,” remarked 1st Lt Joseph LaPenta.

When the troops realized that their base was closing and that they might have to leave the dogs behind, their hearts broke.

Sgt. Caba realized at that point that he couldn’t leave Afghanistan without the dogs. Sheba and her pups were about to go on an incredible journey thanks to Operation Puppy Rescue.

The rest of the story of Sheba and her puppies Cadence, Rocky, Sarah, Jack, Buckeye, Breezy, and Harris, as well as the troops who refused to give up on them, may be found in the movie below.

And share this touching story with your family and friends!
